Matthew 6:5-15 By Greggory Durham GregoryDD1968@aol.com Introduction: Prayer is one of the greatest tools that the child of God has at his or her disposel. But is probably the least used. Matthew chapter 6:5-15 tells us some things about prayer.

I. The Precautions of Prayer.

6:5 A.It’s Hindered by sin.

  1. The sins of the Saint.
  2. The sin of the Sinner. B.The Hypocrite’s prayer is not heard. C.It’s not for public Honor.

II. The Place of Prayer.

6:6-7 A.It’s a Secret place. B.It’s a Separated place. C.It’s a Special place.

III. The Purpose of Prayer.

6:8 A.To make our Wants known. 1Tim, 2:1- 8 B.To Worship God. C.To Intercede With , for others. D.To give thanks for What God has done.

IV. The Pattern of Prayer.

6:9-13 A.To recognize Gods Sovereignty. B.To seek Gods Supply. C.To acknowledge Gods Salvation.
