I. Introduction (Exodus 20:9,11)
A. We are learning about THE Very Beginning of Everything
B. It is called Creation
C. And it all happened in just Six Days
- Not 13.5 billion years!
“Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work.” - Exodus 20:9
“For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” - Exodus 20:11
D. And as Bible believing Christians, we just believe it
- Not blindly
- Not arrogantly - we don’t believe all scientists are stupid and wrong about everything
- But we believe the Bible because we are careful, patiently studying, and learning
- Never throwing away the Bible, but giving this Book the benefit of the doubt
- And finding out that the Bible is right, again and again, from the very first verse!
E. Faith is NOT stupid - even Creation Faith
- We wouldn’t know how everything came to exist without God revealing it to us
- Long before telescopes, microscopes, particle accelerators… mankind had a Book that told us how everything was created
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” - Hebrews 11:3
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” - Romans 10:17
F. And Creation-Faith gives us a right worldview
- The ability to look at rocks, animals, people, planets and see everything as intelligently designed and for a purpose
- Instead of only seeing a series of very fortunate accidents
- One view sees people as created in the image of God, and of infinite value
- The other sees a collection of cells and molecules using up earth’s natural resources
II. Message
A. Revelation of the Trinity in Creation (Genesis 1:1-3)

If you are a Bible believer, we start with an empty universe, and an empty planet called earth, and God rolls up His sleeves and gets to work finishing everything He starts!

Notice who is working…
- God the Father (verse 1) “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
- God the Spirit (verse 2) “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
- The Third Person of the Trinity - the Word!
- God shows us HIMSELF in the very first three verses!

And God SAID (1:3) “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
- Do you notice a pattern?
- Genesis 1:6 “And God said…”
- Genesis 1:9 “And God said…”
- Genesis 1:11 “And God said…”
- Genesis 1:14 “And God said…”
- Genesis 1:20 “And God said…”
- Genesis 1:24 “And God said…”
- Genesis 1:26 “And God said…”
“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.” - Psalm 33:6
The entire universe was created by the spoken word of God!
- The word of God is not just a SOUND… it is a PERSON
- God the Word, became FLESH, and dwelt amongst us, 2,000 years ago
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” - 1 John 5:7
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” - John 1:1-3
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” - John 1:14
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible… all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” - Colossians 1:15-17
- THAT is our Lord and Saviour! Jesus, the Nazarene!
- Jesus is the very WORD of God, living, breathing amongst us - Emmanuel!
- The fact is, God created everything using WORDS
- There is great SCIENCE here in the Bible
- Words are vibrations of energy - frequencies
- God uses vibrating energy to create everything, and to put everything in motion
- Nothing is standing still - everything is actually vibrating
- All of creation at the atomic and molecular level vibrates
B. Day One - The Creation of Light (Genesis 1:3-5)
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” - Genesis 1:3-5
- Light was the first thing God created after the heaven and the earth
- Light is not the Sun - the Sun wasn’t created until Day Four!
- Light is energy - electromagnetic radiation
- God is light - 1 John 1:5
III. Conclusion
A. The Trinity - Father, Son (the Word), and Holy Spirit - worked together in creation
B. God spoke everything into existence
C. Jesus Christ is the living Word of God who created all things
D. Creation happened in six literal days, not billions of years
E. Faith in God’s Word gives us a right understanding of the world around us
